The First of Many

This was my first excursion at an abandoned building where I took pictures. When I was young I used to explore this old cobblestone run-off tunnel near my house, but as a kid I didn’t even think to capture these moments. Also, this was before cell phones could fit in your pocket never mind have cameras in them. It wasn’t until I had to do a capstone project that I took pictures regularly. I decided to study the architecture of my high school, which was built in 1929 in an Art Deco fashion. It was a fun project, and I bought an actual camera (i.e. not disposable) to do it. That was the beginning of loving to explore old places and chronicling the adventure. I have a fascination with abandoned places and old stuff in general. I think you’ll see that reflected in my posts.

Abandoned on a hill
perched on a hill
A bit closer
it grew in through the window
It came through the window
peek beneath
A place of refuge
