Tardigrades: a minute animal of the phylum Tardigrada. AKA: a water bear. AKA: an indestructible microscopic creature resembling an angry manatee. They live in moss and lichen. Every time I see a patch of growth I smile at the fact that a very tiny manatee is living a very tiny life even if I can’t see it. The pictures are from all around New England.
